I couldn't recommend Xtra Removals more. From beginning to end, the process was easy and hassel free. The admin lady, Amanda, was a pleasure to liaise with and very friendly. My removalists, Sandr and Sarkon, were absolutely fantastic! They called me 45mins before they arrived, got to work straight away. They worked incredibly hard, didn't take any breaks and were very funny (cracking jokes as we went). They were constantly checking in with me to make sure everything was perfect and all of my furniture arrived in the same condition. I was so stressed about this move, and Xtra Removals made it super easy. Hats off to you guys, brilliant service.

I highly recommend Xtra Easy Removals. I had to get my stuff from Sydney to Brisbane. Xtra Easy Removals offered reasonable price and communication was so effective and efficient. Delivery was in time and the man informed their pick up time in advance and text me when they were done in my self storage with video. Therefore, I could see everything in good shape via the video without visiting there. Two thumbs up!!!!

Update: both Mary and Amanda in the office called me personally to discuss my experience and review. They were very apologetic and promised to look into communication with drivers to ensure similar doesn't happen. Also offered compensation for a small item that was broken in move. Overall very happy with their response and customer service in general. Original: Moving from Sydney to Melbourne itself was quick and easy, very reasonable price, Mario and Maykil (removalists) were efficient and careful, communication with the office (Amanda) in the booking and confirmation process was great, but communication with the driver (Mario) was poor: he called at 11pm to say drop off at 5am when I'd already informed that they couldn't come until after 8am, also called my sister and woke her up (at pick up location, 11pm) instead of me (at drop off location) despite clear instructions on who to call at each location.

The pros of the company were they communicated well and tried their best to adjust to a last minute issue regarding a loading dock that was too far from the expected location. On the other hand, the movers requested I walk to the shops and help them buy lunch, which at the time I was kind enough to agree to and even treated them for this meal. They ate lunch while on the clock (payment calculated by the hour) and I didn't even argue regarding this. In hindsight I felt I was too kind because the way they left my furniture was not professional. At the new apartment, the tv was facing the wall on the floor, the sofa was not re-assembled, my tv stand was standing literally vertical upright which is very dangerous as it weighed more than I did and I had to carefully lower it myself. At my old unit, they had used the toilet twice and I found that my hair towel had been thrown into a corner on the floor soaking wet whilst they claimed to not know what happened. I had to throw away that towel because I had no idea what kind of water was on it. My makeup bag that had been sitting on the closed toilet lid had been thrown onto the floor and kicked behind the door which is ridiculous. They had no business being in the toilet that day as they didn't need to move anything from there. But they used it and then left it in that condition. I can't deny they were thrown some curveballs that day but for how ridiculously expensive the move ended up being, the quality and professionalism did not add up.

I wouldn't recommend getting packing services on the same day as moving. The boys were reasonably fast at their job but not as careful as I was hoping given how much I was paying for them. They broke a few things and didn't know how to pack pot plants so quite a few of my plants got pretty banged up. The team leader was also weirdly rude, he got upset at me and the building manager because the loading bay was over 50 m away from the door, as if either of us could do something about that, and even though I was fine to pay an extra access charge for that. Finally, on the way over to my new place I got a call from the building manager from my old place. He had CCTV footage showing them reversing their truck into a street light, bending it over by 20 degrees.

We had multiple items damaged and were offered no compensation. They brought a truck and a ute and the ute was not covered with a tarp despite it being a wet miserable day. All the items on the ute got absolutely drenched including electrical items. Vases smashed, chairs covered in oil. I don't want someone else to go through the same thing as us. Plenty of other options out there.

Update: The "parking fine" was never returned nor was any evidence of a fine ever provided. Would not recommend. I'd be highly skeptical of the high ratings as well. The guys stood over me and made me submit a Google review before they would leave the apartment. I can only imagine how unsafe women would feel in this instance. Amanda was very professional in organizing which is why I went with these guys but that's where the pros end. I made it very clear to Amanda both what was being moved, and the requirements for the move, but this is clearly not communicated down to the actual movers who on the day showed up knowing nothing. The guys showed up and complained about parking despite the fact that I had communicated that parking was difficult to Amanda. They then made me pay them $300 to a personal bank account for a "parking fine" that likely didn't exist. I had to time and time again ask for things to be moved as if they were surprised to be moving the whole apartment? There were 5 car loads of bags and items they refused to move. They opened a sealed copy of a first edition print book that was left sealed as a collectors edition, don't know why they felt the need to open it? And the urgency with which they moved things was shockingly bad, clearly paid by the hour. Overall would recommend going elsewhere, not a good experience at all.
